How can it be mid-June already? Didn’t we just finish celebrating Christmas and Easter? Southington schools dismissed for the summer on June 13. So, bring on the lazy, hazy days of summer! We’re ready!

Remember, we’re still here during the summer; we have Sunday worship services as usual at 10 a.m. Please join us every week for worship and the fellowship that follows. If you are going to be visiting other parts of our state, country or world, remember that there are faith communities all over that would love to welcome you to their services of worship. God never takes a vacation; He is always happy to see His beloved sons and daughters gathered to pray, praise and fellowship with one another.

Other things are ongoing this summer at our church: The Buildings and Grounds Committee (Bill McKay, Jon Burdeshaw, Troy Jones, Stefan Panezcko and Peg Lewis) will continue their efforts to facilitate repair or replacement of windows and other projects around the church. Our Flower Committee (Joyce Olore, Peg Lewis, Dot Amundsen, Ginni Butler and Robin Michel) will continue to work on the Prayer Garden and other beautification projects, including providing our altar flowers on Sunday mornings. JKL and Stefan Panezcko will mow, trim and weed our grounds. We are grateful to everyone for keeping the property looking great. Thanks to all who make sure we have plenty of goodies to consume during fellowship hour after worship. Finally, I’m sure Joyce Olore, Dot Amundsen and Linda Lamy are already hard at work organizing our autumn Tag Sale.

So, while we all take a breather, and maybe a trip or two, remember we’ll be here to welcome you when you get back. If you drive through the parking lot at night, you’ll see that we’ve left the light on for you! Enjoy the summer, it will fly by.

In Christ,

        Pastor Sharon
